Eris (UB313) is a dwarf planet. It is named after the Greek goddess who was Ares companion. The planets was reportedly announced on July 29, 2005. It is the largest dwarf planet in the solar system. It has a diameter of 2,400-3,000 kilometers. It is also in orbit around the sun.
