Hipparchus...he's an astronomer

His name was Claudius Hipparchus. He was Born in Nicaea during the year 190 BC. to 120 BC. Hipparchus recorded many of the stars and made an astronomical calender based off the information he had gathered. He also invented a plainisperic astrolabe and was credited with founding trigonometry.he was also geocentric. He contributed many things to the astronomical community but yet he is still somewhat unknown to many people.

Aristotle the Astronomer (Woohoo!)

Aristotle was born in 384 BC. and died in 322 BC. Aristotle was also geocentric, which meant he thought the Earth was the center of the Universe. He used clues like Lunar Eclipses and seeing different stars if you moved on the Earth to come up with the theory that the earth was spherical. He also thought that there was a fifth element as opposed to his culture's 4 elements earth, water, air, and fire. He believed that there was an element called aether. Although he was wrong...and so was his culture he had greatly inspired many astronomers of his time.
